New items you place on your farm. REFRESH your screen before using.

Once you have placed an item on your farm, you need to REFRESH your screen, and here's why:

1. Building abilities will not work until you have refreshed your screen
2. If you move an new item you just placed, it will move back to the original placement unless you refresh your screen before moving them for the first time after placing
3. Refreshing your screen fixes most layering issues (items behind others when they shouldn't be)

REFRESH also fixes

1. Gifts stuck to the curser
2. If your farm isn't showing up (you have a white screen), sometimes refreshing your screen can fix that
3. If you accidentally click MOVE on an item, but you really don't want to move it because there's no way to place it back exactly where it was without moving a lot of other items... don't panic! DO NOT place them item, just REFRESH your screen and the item will go back where it was originally.

The reason you need to refresh

When you first place an item from your gift bank onto your farm, it is called something like newObj1. So your farm knows that you have a new object, but it's not quite sure what it is yet. When you refresh/reload your farm, the gift bank database transfers the information to your farm database, and then your farm knows that newObj1 is actually a Yellow House (or whatever it is you just placed). That is why a newly placed item with an ability doesn't work until you refresh, because to the server it is newOjb1, not a Yellow House.

Layering Issues: Why are somethings in front of others when it should be the other way around?

Each item on myFarm has a registration point for placement. The smaller the item, the less space there is from the registration point to the edge of the item. The larger the item, the more space there is from the registration point to the edge. Not all registrations points are in the middle of the object.

The smaller items are easier to place next to each other, as there is less room for error. Remember, if you are moving your items around, they may not look correct until you refresh your screen. See the 2 images below.

You really just need to play around with the objects, and remember to REFRESH to see how things are lining up and adjust accordingly. No, not everything will layer as you wish they would as there are some limitations to what can be done.

Gift unlock points, what are they?

You gain a gift unlock point for each day that you log in to myFarm. It is banked within the system so you don't actually see them listed anywhere or have control over them (in other words you cannot use them for anything). They go towards the type of gifts that you can send your friends. When you first start out in the game you only have access to a few gifts that you can send to myFarm friends. As you log in each day and gain gift unlock points, you start unlocking other gifts. Once you have reached the final gift (the barred rock chicken) your points are banked within the system. You will use those banked gift points if new items to send to friends are added in the future.

How do I "freeze" myFarm while I'm on holiday/vacation?

There is no need to freeze your farm. The fruit on the trees does not rot. Make sure all crops are harvested before you leave, and wait to plant new crops when you return. Some people plow their fields before they leave on holiday/vacation so that all they have to do is plant new crops when they get home.

I accidentally clicked "Block this Application" and now I cannot get to myFarm or receive gifts

1. From the Facebook Home page, hold your cursor over "Settings", and beneath that, select "Privacy Settings"
2. From there, select "Applications"
3. From there, select the "Settings" tab
4. Scroll down to "Blocked Applications". Click "Remove" next to myFarm.

Cash Shop FAQ

1. DO NOT click BUY more than once, you may purchase more than one. You should see a confirmation message at the top of the screen after you purchase an item. If you do not see a confirmation message, especially for a high dollar item, you should go to your farm and verify that you do not have that object in your gifts. If it's not there, then go back to the cash shop and purchase again.
2. DO NOT click REFRESH, BACK, or FORWARD after you have purchased an item, it will process your purchase again
3. DO NOT double click as this will process your purchase twice
4. If you get the Facebook / myFarm communication error message, DO NOT click "try again," it will purchase the item again. Instead, click the Facebook home page, then go into the myFarm application again, and the item should be waiting in your gifts page.

My farm is gone!

No need to panic, it's just on a different server.

1. click on myFarm
2. scroll to the bottom of the page, just below the Message Wall
3. click on the word SETTINGS
4. click on each server (A,B,C,D & E) until you find your farm

My friend has Christmas trees, how can I get some?

Christmas trees are limited issue items that are available during the Christmas season. There were a few times when Christmas trees were given as a gifts because the gift database became corrupt. There may possibly be other limited editions in the future, keep an eye on the NEWS & UPDATES section of the Community Forum for the latest news.
