PLEASE read the News and Updates section for information on the problems tonight that caused the lost gifts. Keep in mind that we ALL lost gifts, so you are not alone. (I lost almost 200, myself - 130ish that I had not placed yet and 58 that were in the FB que to be accepted)
We understand that you all are upset. We are sorry for your losses. However, at this point, the gifts are gone. Michael tried his best to save them based on the back-up files he had, but unfortunately was unable to do so.
So what now? We must plow/plough (for the brits) on. The system is stable again, so lets all send out our gifts and try to get back up on our feet again!!! Be sure to clear out your FB accepts page first, so that you don't get a false sense of how many new gifts you get.

Be sure to clear out your FB accepts page first, so that you don't get a false sense of how many new gifts you get.

The way you usually clear out your gifts. just tgo to your giftpage and rapid-accept until they're all gone and clear. That way when someone sends you something knew, you'll only see the one gift and not "You have 3 gifts" when two of them are just dead duds leftover from todays wipe.
go to your FB page with the gifts notifications and be sure to accept them all so they are cleared out

UGGHHH!!! Gonna take you a while, then, unfortunately...
Go to the page and quickly click "accept" on as many of the gifts as you can. (if you have a very fast connection, you may not be able to get many.) Anyway, click as many as you can before it directs you to the myFarm page, then click "home" on the FB bar and do the same thing until they have all been accepted. This will clear them all out and you can start fresh!
I knew I should have planted those X-mas trees I recieved throughout...:(

I can understand not being able to get gifts that friends sent you. But items that were purchased are different. Being denied reimbursement for purchased items when things weren't working properly seems unsportsmanlike.

Purchases aren't being denied. Only gifts. You need to specify in your claim that you bought the items in the cash shop.

"Right before the crash today I had purchased a Woodshed. I have a gift from "the King" but it's an Orange tree. I'd like my woodshed please. Thanks!"
I gave a dollar amound of 25,000. The request was denied and I was told that it wasn't a "crash" and that people were warned (although you had to be checking over here apparently to know aobut it). The implication being that it was my fault for purchasing something on a day y'all were having a bad time. I was pretty specific in my request and was still denied and in effect, blamed for the problem. I don't see how you could call that fair.
I'm editing to add that the picture shown is not me and has changed from what it was when I registered just a few minutes ago. Clearly the functionality of your site is very unstable. It's probably best to just stop using this application. I'm concerned about it's affects now.

Also when you are asking for compensation for Barns etc please make sure you remove the $50 amount from the 'Credit' section.. We cannot edit this out and cannot approve it if it is still there.

the site is not unstable. just a couple of bugs. that is to be expected in anything new. all you have to do is go to 'userCP' and upload or select an avatar.

Gifts are still not working.
A friend sent me 25 gifts within the last hour. On FB they show up and can be accepted, when I get to the farm they have mysteriously vanished.

i purchased the chicken coop last night from the cash shop - it took my $25000 but only gave me an orange tree....still dont have a coop....please help-- i know there was a crash - but how can i get my coop - it DID take my money!!! :-(

if the gift you lost was an item that was purchased you may fill out a request on the support page. make sure you fill it out carefully or your request will be denied.

Amy, for what it's worth, the link in the above post also returned for me the invalid thread message:
"Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator"

I am so bummed! I bought about 4,000 farm credits worth of trees last night and was going to load them all in this morning. Now I am out the farm credits and the trees! Any way to get the credits back?
If it's a covered loss, you can go to the support page & request compensation. You need to leave the amount at "0".

Basically, what it said was that everything should be back up and running, and that he tried to save gifts but was unable to.
Oh well, I had over 100 gifts on my fb page since I didn't have the time to place them I had left them there. It's no biggy, it's a game & things happen. :laugh: *medicating myself with pizza & hot fudge sundae*

Yes Amy...that thread was removed yesterday sometime. Sadly I had directed others to there only to learn it was gone.
I have noticed that with other bug threads...removed far too soon...would save a lot of repetetive posts of questions/concerns if those threads were left up for at least a week or so after the problem happened!

I just don't get this. I have followed all steps and I still can't get any gifts. I have even created a second FB account to send myself gifts and I never received a notification in FB that I have gifts, nor do I see them in MF. Any ideas?

I had accepted gifts a couple of days ago, and then tried to send and the crash was happening. The gifts that I placed dissappeared. I have left my gifts alone for a couple of days, and today decided to place again. Facebook says I have 40 plants and 24 animals, and when I went to accept the first one, my farm said that I only had 22 gifts. How long...how many days did we lose gifts? I cleared my gift cache on Facebook when the first crash happened.

I agree. Not all of us are social creatures and only visit this forum on less than frequent occasions. I had asked about the orange tree in that thread and don't know if I ever received an answer or not now.

The thing to do now is to place all your current gifts, accept them all on your FB page and then start over. So sorry. We all were disappointed. Yes, I have always been able to send and receive gifts. My trouble started happening about the same time everyone else started having issues with not receiving gifts. I have followed all the steps...accepting the gifts on FB and placing all gifts in the game. I managed at some point to get a couple Christmas trees - in FB I accepted them and then in MF I clicked on my gifts. When I did that I received what looked like an informational message telling me to accept all gift - which I did. I haven't received gifts since then.

Ah, okay, thank you. I never got one, but no biggie. (And before you say, "you must have missed it," no, I know I didn't because once recovery had been made, I only had one gift in my inbox and it wasn't from The King. I then immediately came in here and got the info so have been checking ever since then. :cute:) I'm just glad there wasn't more damage which there certainly could have been. I do feel VERY badly for those who lost unplanted Christmas Trees though. They're really awesome.

Hmmm. Ok. And since the problem, have you cleared out your FB accepts page and planted any and all gifts that you do have? Meaning are you now showing NO gifts in myFarm and NO gifts in FB?

ok.. here's something new for you to think about....for the past few days... I've been doing the accept all... and "counting" the ones that I've accepted from friends through the game.... It's not adding up!!!! this past one from Sunday to Monday I was missing 20 plants and 5 animals... today it said I only had 3! I didn't do any planting last night I just accepted them... sooooooooooo where did they go if I didn't plant them???

The last week I have not been able to receive my gifts that have been sent to me . When I accept them it says no gifts available. I had over 70 gifts and now have 38 what do I do with the ones I have left as I dont want to lose these ones as well.

Three days ago, there was a massive corruption of the database that stores the information about the gifts. All gifts that were received prior to that time (but nor yet placed on farms) were lost; they may still be showing as notifications on your Facebook page, but they are "empty" notifications, and should simply be cleared out by accepting them. If you have not read through all of the posts in this thread, you may want to do so; they explain the mishap better than I can.
EDIT: Sorry, I just realized that the thread explaining the loss of gifts has been deleted...
If any of those remaining 38 are gifts that you have received yesterday or today (although if it is saying that you have no gifts available, it doesn't sound as if they are), those should be available to you. To accept them, it is important to remember to click accept on the first gift ONLY, allow the myFarm page to load, then click "accept all your gifts at once". After you have done this, you should see a message that says "...you have 0 unaccepted gifts". It is now safe to return to your Facebook home page and "rapidly accept" any gifts still showing there (the rapid accept works better for some than for others, depending on their browser, internet connection speed, and various other factors).
Best of luck with the gifts, and for your farm in general.

Please read this message posted by The King in a separate thread regarding this issue. It is a problem with Facebook and not myFarm that is causing this to happen to you. The gifting part of the myFarm application is Facebook driven (the same as it is for all other applications on Facebook):

Actually guys, it's a glitch on Facebook end that has started occurring the last couple days which is resulting in gifts not being sent. This happens to certain people re-occurringly... Kinda odd. :/

Can you explain, what do you mean lost them. from your gift tab, or fb, or what?

I accepted them but when I got to my farm the gift tab had no gifts although they appear on the received gift tab!!!

You ARE aware that creating dummy accounts in order to give yourself an advantage is considered cheating and is against Facebook's Terms and Conditions, correct? And that it may lead to you and/or your dummy account being reported? >_>;

Aggieshawna, a request for Farm Cash or Farm Credits lost is made on the Support Page which is accessible via a link in the Farm Guide. The Farm Guide button is on your main Farm page. The results of your request are available on that same Support Page.
I would have liked to take a quick look at your farm to help determine your chicken coop situation. However, there is a missing piece of information in your profile which makes it difficult for me to do that easily and directly from the forum. If you'll look at the posts of your fellow posters here (and mine) you'll notice that there are 3 small icons below the name. That feature would help me to see your farm right away. In order to add that information to your profile you can take the following steps.
-- Click on USER CP at the left of the blue banner above
-- Click on Edit Details
--- At the Bottom of page you sill see a box that says FB User ID
--- Enter your Facebook user ID and save changes.
In order to get your user ID go to FB and click on your own name in the blue banner at the top (next to SETTINGS.) The number following ID= is your ID #. Copy that - numbers only, no other symbols - and paste it in the box. Once you do this and save the changes you should see those little icons under you name when you post in the community forum. That way the mods have quick access to your farm when you need help.

Hello, Blondy!
The first thing that comes to mind is that I wonder if somehow the ten missing gifts were gifts that you had already accepted, but had not been cleared from your Facebook page yet. Also, you probably read about the big database corruption of a few days ago. If any of the thirteen gifts were sent previous to the crash, they have unfortunately been lost.
Just to confirm: did you accept the gifts one at a time, or did you rapidly accept them from the Facebook requests page? Rapidly accepting the gifts works for me ONLY WHEN I have first accepted just one, allowed the myFarm application to load, and used the option in myFarm to "accept all my gifts at once". When I forget to accept all, and just start rapidly clicking away on the Facebook requests page, I lose nearly all my gifts every time.
If you have accepted the gifts using the above procedure, and you have still lost gifts, that is a separate issue that needs to be looked into by someone smarter than me!

smbeia is correct, however, after clicking "accept all" do NOT use the "back button" DO use the "home" button to go back to your fb home page. Doing it this way "after" you have accepted all, will allow you to rapid accept the gifts from the fb page. I can get about 12-15 in a rapid accept by doing it this way. Only about 3-5 if you use the back button. I hope I didn't confuse you!

hi phillip. another way to do that is to search your own name and look at a post you have written. whenever you make a change (signature, picture, etc) it updates all your posts with the new info. :smile1:

The other day I was in the middle of accepting gifts when MyFarm went down. This was AFTER the big problem/recovery posted about..on the 9th I believe.
When I finally was able to get back in...it seems even after clearing my cache twice, etc. the system has lost those gifts and every day I am reminded of it because it always says I am XX gift requests left to accept but it's always FIVE too high. In other words it says that on myFarm page but in my FB in box there are no more once it gets down to you have 5 requests left to accept.
Is there ANY WAY I can clear this painful reminder out? I had accepted FIVE ... was in the middle of the 5th in fact when it crashed..prior to that it was going VERY SLOW. This is not related to the big problem a few days before that.
So now every day when it says I have XX gift requests left to accept I know I must subtract five from that number. Kinda frustrating.

It is STRONGLY suggested that you do not ignore any myFarm gift requests, as if you do, Facebook will reduce the number of gifts we are all allowed to send per day. After accepting them all at once in myFarm, return to your Facebook home page and try to click rapidly as many as you can before you are redirected to myFarm- before you know it, they will all be cleared out.

Guess no one knows how I can rid myself of this painful reminder that I lost (NOW AT) six gifts. Even if all are accepted on FB, farm says I have six not accepted yet.
Oh well..not sure how it grew from five to six in one day either. I guess some gifts are just not meant to be for me.

remove &ref=profile from your facebookid. It shouldn't cause a problem but it might so better safe than sorry

Hmmm. Ok. And since the problem, have you cleared out your FB accepts page and planted any and all gifts that you do have? Meaning are you now showing NO gifts in myFarm and NO gifts in FB?
Yes, I accepted all gifts in FB and show no gifts in myFarm.

You ARE aware that creating dummy accounts in order to give yourself an advantage is considered cheating and is against Facebook's Terms and Conditions, correct? And that it may lead to you and/or your dummy account being reported? >_>;
Thanks for the note April, but I'm not cheating. I am currently having a problem with either myFarm or Facebook with receiving gifts from anyone. I used the other account to see if it was just for one user or from any user in FB. The other moderator is helping me with this issue.

Try removing the myFarm application from your FB profile. Give it a few minutes to process, then add the application back. (don't worry, you won't lose your farm) For some reason some FB accounts don't communicate well with myFarm and therefore, the gifts don't make it through the "black hole" between the two. I'm not sure if this will help or not, because most of these accounts were having their problems even before the gift issue last week. Give it a try, though and see if it works. Send me a PM when you see what happens and we'll go from there.

This is bumming me out. Now it's up to ELEVEN gifts it says are unaccepted but yet none show up in FB inbox or farm gifts. It went from 4 the first day to 6 the next and now has climbed to ELEVEN! Seems it climbs each time I get an error message when trying to accept a gift which has happened at least once a day every day since the 9th. And I'm reminded of how many I am losing as it appears there is no way to CLEAR that message on farm that says you have XX unaccepted gifts left. I've cleared my cache five times in three days but it changed nothing. The most recent time, I had 7 gifts (4 plant, 3 animal) in FB inbox, accepted one, said I had 12 remaining (the 6 problem carryover plus 6 I had left) then it errored out then I went back to inbox and there were only four left so three disappeared when the error happened and almost ALL added to the running error talley I can't get rid of.
It seems I am losing gifts everyday now. AND I can't clear out that painful reminder. Anyone know why?

Oh to add....I never had these problems before the BIG problem hit a week ago or so. But all was well right after that..for like one day then this started.

What would be going on if when i send the gifts to someone and it says that they are sent, then the other person says nothing is showing up on her side from me. Where would they go? She is my daughter so i know is sent to the right person. Everyone else gets theirs from me. Im confused.

Example of my issue that just happened...and it GREW again.
I had NINE requests on my FB page for myfarm gifts. I accepted the first one and when it went to MyFarm it said I had 19 remaining unaccepted gifts (the residual "fake" 11 plus the "real" 8 left). Fine. They I accepted one by one the other eight..each time it went down one until the end, then it said you have 12 TWELVE remaining gift requests unaccepted on that farm page. So it's GROWING. The question is am I really losing gifts? Or just imaginary ones somehow? Drives me CRAZY I can't clear the message out on the myfarm page each time!
Also I've noticed that in gifts received..not always the accurate ones received most recently either. Weird.
I've searched this forum for an answer to this issue..I see others have it but no solution.

I finally found my fix I think.
I accepted all current gifts one by one. Then when there were no "real" requests left in FB I clicked ACCEPT ALL on the farm page....and WAAA LAAA the 13 missing gifts that were not even on the FB request page EVER...appeared! Hope this helps someone else maybe!
OK... I think I have figured out what is happening in some of these "missing gifts" cases. Please don't attack me if you disagree. I know there are issues out there and I feel certain that I have lost a few gifts here and there, too. But Michael CORRECTED the gifts corruption and accordng to him- things should be working properly, now.
I have been watching my gifts very carefully for the past week or so to see if anything funny was going on. This is what I have seen... (#s are arbitrary)
I get FB notification that I have 30 plant gifts and 20 animal gifts.
I accept 1st gift and it takes me back to myFarm where I get notice that I have 49 unaccepted gifts. (so far so good)
I click accept all, which according to myFarm leaves 0 unaccepted gifts.
I then go back to FB to "rapidly accept" the 49 remaining gifts.
Obviously, this takes some time. I have to go back and forth several times to get them all accepted, right?
OK, so once I am at the bottom of the list, with... say 8-10 gifts left to accept- I click 'em all and since I get them ALL this time- once it goes to myFarm, I stay there and plant my gifts.
BUT... when I go back to FB next time- even though I thought I got them all accepted, I really didn't. The last 4-6 gifts were accepted as far as myFarm is concerned, but FB did not register that I had accepted them (maybe I clicked too quickly?)
SO, that being said... It looks like I have 4-6 NEW gifts the next time I go to FB, but when I click to accept them, myFarm says I have no new gifts. (because I really don't!)
I discovered this glitch (for lack of a better term) this week by writing down the names of the friends who had sent me gifts (from the FB page) then checking it with the names of the friends on the gifts in myFarm. It all matched up. I DID recieve all the gifts, but FB gave the illusion that I had more gifts than I really had.
I had to watch very closely to find this. I had to check gifts many times during the day and try to accept them when there weren't too many to track. It took me a few times to catch it, but then when I "tested" it again, it would continue to happen.
So... Lets' all take a deep breath. It looks as if we ARE indeed getting the gifts, but FB is just making it look like we're losing some in cyberspace!!!

Just to report that fatfarmer's "fix" has also worked for me in a slightly different situation. If facebook gets stuck connecting to my farm on the first gift (which it quite often does), then I accept the second, kill the first connection. FB now says I have two less than I started with, but when I go to myfarm it has the right number and will let me accept all of them.
I also recognise the issue Amy alludes to - and think it comes up particularly when the servers are slow?
Is it worth reminding ourselves that these are not actual trees, animals and so on? :close_tema: :smile1:

OH NO!!! I wish I had left the "fake" 13 gifts there because the NEXT time I went to FB to accept gifts on request page (I had five there)..I accepted one, and then when it went to farm page it said I had ZERO unaccepted gifts left!! I accepted manually the next one on FB and the rest and they NEVER went to gifts! I would rather have those fake leftover gifts vs obvious disappearing of ALL NOW!!!
I never had any problems before the big crash at all! I cleared my cache again but I'm losing all gifts now. Me one sad farmer today!!!

I am trying to access MY FARM and it won't let me. My son has a MY FARM he can access from the same computer. I have tried a couple of different ways to get to it and it won't let me. Please help.

My guess, is that you and your son have farms on
different servers. To check go to bottom of page and
click on settings. Whichever server is highlighted is the
one you(or your son) are on.

If you are not even receiving the requests (I am assuming you mean on fb), then check your blocked applications on your fb. When accepting gifts quickly, the "block application" or "block this person" can accidently be clicked.
If they are blocked then just unblock them.
If I am assuming incorrectly, please let us know what you are experiencing.

This is a separate issue, you have not set your avatar in your profile. Set your avatar and it will stop picking up someone else's fb pic. It is a glitch between the link to fb.

go to user CP and set an avatar and fill in your location. For some reason if you dont have those filled in it pulld one randomly from someone else. they are trying to fix it, but so far it has eluded them.

Was wondering what was going on - had 27 requests (a lot for me) and got only about half of them. Did not know about any problem so wasn't realy paying attention. Thanks for the update.
i dont know if this is the answer.... but this morning i sent myself some gifts from my daughters account . all showed up been sent,all showed up to be accepted ,but some were not in my gifts. the ones that were missing were the ones i sent using "rapid send " same principal as rapid accept.... i think fb says you have sent them but as you have sent 3-4 off one window it only recognises one out of 3-4 when you get into my gifts.....
i,ve tried this with a few friends and its the same
SO ONLY SEND ONE AT A TIME..../SEEMS TO SORT PROBLEM.
i know its more click,click,click ,but ive not lost any since

Morning...I just tried to accept one by one 2 gifts out of 8, and when I got to the MyFarm page it said I had no gifts...but...I had an Orange tree from The King, (thanks Your Highness). I stopped and left them on my profile fb page and will try later...just wanted to let you know this was happening...is there a new problem or just the same one resurfacing?

About an hour ago I accepted some plant & animal gifts, using the rapid method, and then cleared them out of the facebook application notifications section. I went through the rest of my application notifications before going to myFarm to arrange my new gifts. They're not there; all I have is an orange tree from the King.
I checked my wife's account, and all the trees I've sent in the past two weeks - since the last crash - aren't there either. She got two Christmas Trees from the King (which I promptly planted so they wouldn't get lost).
I've looked through the forums and see that people are reading about lost gifts this morning, but I don't see any official posts. Can someone comment on what is going on?

There is a message on "My Farm" - on your farm page. just above the gifts box - explaining that there was a gift crash this morning. There is also a notice in the News section here in the forum from Wakey - here (http://www.myfarmcommunity.com/showthread.php?p=14668#post14668) - explaining that something went wrong with the interface between Facebook and MyFarm earlier today. (All those lovely gifts from my sister... :sad: )
I lost all my gifts too, did receive an Orange tree from the King, al lot of friends did receive two Christmas trees..
I'm waiting to accept my other 15 gifts, I don't want to lose them too.

I noticed this thread was started earlier this month.... yet, I lost maybe 15 gifts (animals and trees) last night...
I did see that THE KING gave me two christmas trees though. THANK YOU!!
Are they still having a problem?? Should I have my friends wait before they send me more gifts and vice versa?

I to lost 9 gift this AM, that were sent to me last night. :( 1 was an animal, the rest I don't know exactly what they were. I accepted them all in Facebook too.

There was a crash last night and all gifts sent before the crash have been lost. :sad: The system seems to be working again now though (at least people are reporting being able to receive gifts again. :smile1:)
I have lost over 300! I accepted them last evening (it took forever accepting that many :suicide: ) from fb, and was going to place them today when I had the time. The last "GIFT CRASH" that happened a few months ago, happened when I had about that manyalso.
Can you explain, why the crash took out more than one days worth of gifts?
Lets break this down into parts.
There are gifts piled up in FB waiting to be accepted (one thing)
and accepted gifts waiting to be placed (second thing)
I do not understand how item two is anything but a myFarm issue, and how that isn't addressable through good backups.
In my thinking at most losses should be a single day as you revert to your last backup of the gift database.
"From previous posts, it was my understanding that gifts were maintained in a database. Is the database backed up daily? If so, why is a restore not possible? If not, why not?"
Yes, this is Beta, but this is part of working out the bugs of Beta and this is a very legitimate question.

This morning I lost 67 plant gifts. My boyfriend lost NONE. He was gifted 2 christmas trees, and I got nothing at all.
What is the logic in this? How is it determined who gets a replacement gift, and who doesn't??
I get that it's a beta application, but if some get "I'm sorry" gifts, then everyone should!

Simon is waiting for a response from Michael as to why some users did not receive replacement gifts.
Please keep an eye on the News and Update section as I'm sure Simon will post more information regarding this issue as soon as it's made available to him.
