Get a FREE 6-piece gnome set when you install the myFarm Toolbar (http://apps.facebook.com/farmgame/toolbar.pS).

Once you install the toolbar you can then purchase more gnomes from the Cash Shop (http://apps.facebook.com/farmgame/shop.pS).

Not really as I have seen the artwork and they are pretty good, ok not everyone will like them but many people will. Best of all they are artwork that was donated to the game by one of the mods (Teresa, she has been using myFarm as a basis to teach herself some artwork skills with these being some of her creations during this process) so they are items which are a nice addition but haven't diverted resources and budget from elsewhere in development

Installed tool bar, purchased Free Gnomes with Farm Cash... Farm Cash was deducted from my account, but so far, no Gnomes... did I do something wrong?

Update: Farm Cash refunded, thanks!

Ok guys, I have been looking into it and the problem seems to be with the purchase of the Gnomes with Cash. It doesn't go through but credit purchase is fine. I've let Joey know my findings so it should get fixed.

Additionally I have had some problems getting IE to work, it doesn't unlock Gnomes on my test account when I install it. Hopefully Joey can find the cause of that or its just restricted to myself

Hiya,

I installed to Fire Fox 3.5.2 - have done enough searches to grant me 30 credits so far. The gnomes are showing Locked. A couple of refreshes later, still no change.

Have you just installed it or installed it before the additions were made?

If so uninstall the toolbar and then install it again and it should unlock. Although as I said on the thread related to this I have had some issues getting them unlocked using IE with my test account

This is the first time I've installed the toolbar. Pointing out that, though it's Firefox, you are not alone with it not recognizing that it's been installed. ;O)

Uninstall/reinstall didn't work for me, either. At least not so far. I'm also a Firefox user.

BTW, I love the gnomes. Yes, they're tacky - and great.

ETA: Got 'em, and they're adorable! Thanks~:gnomesmileyf:

I uninstalled & reinstalled the new toolbar (IE) & still didn't get the "free" gnomes. But I was able to purchase both sets of gnomes using myfarm cash.
I gotta say, they're adorable! Now all we need is to be able to kidnap a gnome or two! Now wouldn't that be fun! :daisy:

Thanks!

Purchasing from Cash Shop
There was an issue where Farm Cash purchases were not working. This has now been resolved. If you lost out on cash make a claim on the Support Page (http://apps.facebook.com/farmgame/support.php)

No automatic award OR no unlocking in cash shop
There is a slight issue with the tracking atm. Its being looked into and should be resolved asap. Sorry for any inconvenience this is causing you

It's not just restricted to you. My g/f sitting 3 feet away from me was excited about Gnomes and installed the toolbar but got no Gnomes. I installed the toolbar and got the same results. In the Cash Shop it still shows both sets of Gnomes locked and says to install toolbar to get them. Looking forward to seeing and getting the Gnomes so hope it's fixed shortly and doesn't cause too much hassle for those of us who have already installed the toolbar.

I just bought the gnomes. I had the myFarm toolbar already installed and it is working great. I have FireFox 3.0 and I didn't want to remove it to get the free gnomes. It would have been nice to have that before I installed the toolbar, but I'm not taking any chances that I'll mess up what already works for my computer. I couldn't use the credits, though. It said that the toolbar wasn't installed. Is that just a glitch? I know that you are having some issues with it, even with people reinstalling the toolbar.

Teresa, the gnomes are darling. I love them. Thank you so much for making them for us. I hope the credit part of my toolbar will start to work soon. :cute-japan-cat:

Just wanted to say TYVM Teresa for the gnomes. I remember seeing those delightfully tacky figures on my Aunt's porch/yard as a child. Mine are on my main farm and I love them and will be buying more.

As an a side I still love myFarm and wish the naysayers would go play something else and let the rest of us farm away to our heart's content.

Keep up the good work everybody.

If you are not redirected, please follow these steps
Go to the front page of MyFarm
Click on the login link within the toolbar.
If you are still having problems, please make sure you are on a cookie enabled browser

Have you uninstalled the toolbar and then reinstalled it?

If not do so and if you have then there is something on your computer that blocking it. What I'm not sure though. It might be your Firewall or something so you could try disabling the firewall for a few minutes and see if that sorts it. You obviously don't want to run without a firewall but if we can pinpoint the problem it will make a solution easier to find

Thank you Theresa, they are very cute. I had no problem uninstalling and reinstalling the toolbar to get them. Not getting all my credits for searches but that's ok, I'll buy whatever credits I need and:yaping dog: support the game. Now if someone could just tell me how to get those smilies into my posts, I'd be a happy farmer

I'm having the same problem, have uninstalled and reinstalled like 4 times. reboot my pc and still nothing, have allowed all cookies from all sites, I'm getting ready to trash the whole toolbar thing and go back to my trusty Google toolbar. I may not have gotten anything free or earn farm cash, or see my progess from Google, but hay, (pun intended) I'm not getting those things from myfarm toolbar either.:gnomesmileyf:

I just wanted to say thank you for the work y'all are doing in order that we might have a fun time doing some virtual farming. :cowboy: I know this is probably not going to be wildly accepted by many but I would like to apologize for all those who seem to forget that this isn't "real" life and that the hard-working staff volunteer their time. I've been in your positions and do appreciate your time. :birds in love:

I too uninstalled and reinstalled the toolbar but the gnomes remained locked. :spider: I really like knowing where my crops are as far as harvesting etc. so the toolbar definitely serves it's purpose with that respect. The "search" component doesn't seem to be working (as well) but I read some hints in another thread so will try those.

That's it...sorry to go on and on. I will continue to come to this Forum for future advice and comradery. :horse ride:

I need some help from somewhere. I sent $5 donation so I could help the Farm and get the 5 Christmas Trees. Before that I installed the Toolbar. It shows me when my crops are ready, my amount of money and credits. Now it seems to be saying I haven't done either. Also I used the password I have always used on the page to put extra information and it keeps saying it is incorrect. I have used that same password for everything because it has special meaning. I am probably writing on the wrong form, but I have played My Farm for almost a year, have made right at $5,000,000 on one large farm. Now I can't seem to do something right. Please help!!! The gnomes really make me smile. There's one standing by a group of my chickens who seems to be trying to hide something behind his back. A hatchet, perhaps? Oh, dear.:chick07:

Every time I tell myself I'm getting a little tired of farming and might take a rest for a while, something new comes along to amuse me. And this one was free! Thanks, everyone who's working so hard to keep things interesting.

For the time being they have been removed. The Free Set is Gnome Set 1, Gnome Set 2 were some different colours of the gnomes in set 1

I am a supporter of MyFarm and have friends and family who also are fans. I pay cash for credits and give a little extra to support the game.

I like the idea of rewards that are being offered but do not agree on how this is done. I should not have to download anything else except the application and play my time to receive any type of bonus, at least this is my opinion.

I don't see how keeping track of my searches on something outside this game should have anything to do with the play of this. This is just putting more cookies and possible other computer problems.

I know I must be one of the few who feel this way, but I still feel that it is worth these few words to tell you how I feel about having to install the toolbar to achieve anything.

I'm still a fan, just feel like anyone who plays and supports the game should also deserve bonuses as they come out.

I am afraid to say I fully agree, there are enough records of who searches for what without adding to the data log still further !

As for your signature JDH - "Whale-Oil-Beef-Hooked" as said by that well known irishman A-Knee-Mick !!

Personally I would have much preferred if the "search bar" had no search facility or "points to be aquired", It would have been good as a simple MyFarm monitoring bar, with the crop, cash, harvesting info shown - but ideally for all your farms not just the one you last visited....

But I really dont expect any of that to happen (ever) !!! Thanks for the positive feedback though farmergirl, keep them wellies wet.....

First of all I just want to give you quick explanation of how the bar works which will hopefully put your mind at ease.

There are three parties involved, myFarm, Freecause and Yahoo. Now obviously there is some tracking going on for it to work however no party has all the information.

Beyond the normal information your browser sends a browser the information that each party knows is

Yahoo

The Search term
The Affiliate/Tracking Code for Freecause

Freecause

The Toolbar ID (What tells them it was done with the myFarm toolbar and someone elses)
Your User ID
The Search Term

myFarm

Your User ID
Your Facebook ID

So from Facebook we know who you are, we then assigned you a user ID. When you search the search passes to Freecause the Search Term, the user ID we assigned you and the Toolbar type id. Freecause then pass Yahoo the Search Term and a Affiliate/Tracking. Yahoo run the query, use the Affiliate/Tracking code pay Freecause the commission and tell them its been successful. Freecause then take their handling fee and then pay us and then send us confirmation that your User ID has fulfilled the required. We then pay you the credits.

Basically that means that Yahoo never know your User ID, We never know your search term and Freecause never know your Facebook ID. This makes it about as anonymous as you can get on the internet without taking really extreme measures.

Now onto why we have the toolbar and why we are giving incentives to use it. People like yourself are in the minority, you buy credits, donate money, view the ads and probably have taken some offers. Alot of the other users aren't even viewing the ads let alone the rest. We need to turn these people into revenue streams and these people want to be able to get Credit items without paying which this allows. The additional reward items just give people additional incentive to do search which cost them nothing but generate us an income, income which can then be used to improve the game further.

Now I have floated making the items available to everyone without the bar, if this does happen however they would be credit only. It might happen but it might not, it will depend on what from a business pov works. Mind you as a donar to the new item you may be wanting to keep an eye on your Farm over the next month as there may just be something special turning up for you :)

Thanks for the explanation Wakey, but Personally, I would still have been happy with an "Info Bar" although I do get your point - the whole idea is to raise funds even at £0.0001 per search (or whatever)
Also could you answer a quick query for me, I know in the "Blurb" it says only one toolbar per user, but If I wanted to install the toolbar onto my laptop as well as my desktop, would that cause a problem ???

Thanks again, and I am keeping an eye on my farm (Petes Patch), it just seems a shame that so many app users seem to be turning their backs on such an enjoyable relaxed app - Shame we cant rewind to "the good old days" where most bits didnt work most of the time but people seemed enthralled with the app !!

I haven't tried tbh so I'm not 100% sure. If I get 5 minutes tomorrow I might have a mess around and see. I suspect that the game info might still work but that the search may not. I also suspect that the last install will be the active one as far as the search goes

Thanks Wakey,

I would like to know, because I access my FB account (& therefore MyFarm) from several different computers during a week (most of them are company machines that I cant install stuff on) however I do use both my laptop and desktop regularaly thus the facility might be useful - but I dont want to "try to con extra gnomes" or stuff things up generally, and being pretty much computer illiterate, I really dont want to "just try it", last time I did that led to a complete re-format and re-install !!!!
