I got this idea watching the news tonight as they reviewed the big events in our area for 2008. List some events either good or bad that happened in your life in 2008.
Well here's mine, not necessarily in this order.
1. Joined Facebook (I love fb and have connected with several old friends.)
2. Discovered MyFarm
3. Celebrated 37 years of marriage to my high school sweetheart.
4. Got laid off job after 24 years
5. Took early retirement at the same time.
6. Lost way too much money in 401K
7. Started new job
8. Learned I was going to be a Granny again. This makes number three.
9. Bought new to me car and hit daughter's mailbox a couple of weeks later.
10. This is my husband's but by far the best. Our daughter googled my husband's birth mom's name and discovered two posts by a lady looking for her half brother. She had found his birth date written in pencil on a small box of matches and a half used card of buttons in some of her mother's things. We have since meet three of his four half siblings. He is exactly five years older than the oldest (they share the same birthday.)
Look forward to seeing what is in store for 2009.

Ha! No wonder we had a connection on the last forum (the whole bizarre DD brothers situation). It seems you rate relationships as being of utmost importance in your life, as do I...are you a social worker, too? :wink1:

6. I made an awesome friend who made me feel like I was in college again.
7. Oh goodness, there were a lot of memorable moments, but overall, it was a pretty mellow year. And I'm coming to realize that it's not a bad thing.

2008 was not the best year. I guess the main points are as follows:
Husband got sick again.
Daughter lost everything she owned in the Floods of 2008
Saw many many friends lose jobs.
Hoping 2009 will be better.
