Heya.....
I've figured out how to do a bunch of stuff on the farms, like how to get the trees to sit on plowed land, and sneaky stuff like that. However, I can't seem to get my chooks to sit on top of my chicken coop, like I have seen on one or two Farms that people have submitted for our perusal.
HOW did you do that, please?

For now, we can't actually move our chickens on top of things. What you're seeing as far as chickens on plowed and planted land, is the user will place their chicken on a plot of grass, then plow or plant underneath it.
And concerning them sitting on the buildings, it's just a depth error. They'll place chickens on the ground and move the buildings beneath them. It will cancel upon a screen refresh and they'll be back behind the buildings or under them.

All you need to do is click the very edge of the coop -takes a few tries but you will get it! You need to click just past the line of the roof onto the grass
I think it actually sits in the grass above the coop - but it does appear like they are on top of it!
Here's my farm to see a few examples...even a few on top of barns.

I was able to get a chicken on the roof just the way April said. I just placed a chicken, then placed the coop. It took a few tries to get the chicken in just the right spot. Kind of hard to put him on the right spot on the roof when you cant see the roof ;)
But it worked. the spacial error never corrected itself. Im not entirely sure why, but Im glad it hasnt :)
You can click on the link in my siggy to see. The chicken coop is right in the middle.

I managed to get a chicken that looks like it's inside one of the coop doors. It's kind of difficult to place chickens inside the coop's fencing, so I tried cramming about a dozen chickens into an area and replaced the coop and voila! Usually when I've done that, I end up with a chicken that looks like it's caught in the fence...

I have been playing with this for waaay to long - I positioned the chickens - got the building under it - all good - then it goes back to normal - barn on top of chickens. I have used the snapshot button - I have refreshed...I have done both in opposite order...it still goes back! What am I doing wrong??

I got my chickens to sit ontop of the back of the barn but can't get them into the roost. I used both methods, placing chickens then placing barn over them and clicking on the grass just above barn. Any other suggestions?
.:baffled:
2 other questions ;
1. Can you change the way the barn faces?.
2. How long do you need to own an animal before you can sell it.
Thanks to anyone who responds

1. Sorry but that's not an option
2. As long as you have a barn and refreshed/reloaded your farm you can sell - no waiting required.
And Chucks in front of barns so does not seem possible (after refreshing) - Shack Doors and Coop Roofs are different - visit my farm below

Don't ya know just after I ask a question I figured it out! I reread the instructions and I wasn't placing the barn under the chickens I was doing just the oppisite placing the barn oer the chickens. DUH!!!
Also, went out of app then back and I was able to sell my new animals.

I managed ONE time to get a chicken in the barn loft. But when I refreshed. The chicken was UNDER the barn.
Now, every time I try, the barn will just go over the chicken and will not slide under the chicken......
Did I misunderstand? Can we do this????

A lot of us have tried but they just don't stay there. The only place where chickens (or other animals) seem to stay is on the roof of the chicken coop. Quite a few of us have done that (one has a goat on hers.... if you look at the post before yours you will see she mentions it and has the link to her farm so that you can go and have a look at it). If you look at my farm - I have chickens on the roof of my chicken coop.
I have only heard of a select few who have managed to put chickens in their barn but that was only kept that way because of a computer glitch. Live, Love, Farm???
After the last couple of updates that fixed the layering, that's why the barn will go on top of the chickens. Prior to the updates you could do it but not any more.

Thank you both for replying. I did see the goat, thought that was hilarious. My Mom had a goat once that was ALWAYS up on something (including my brother-in-laws new car once, when trying to get him off goat (Pete) went to the front while BIL went to the back, lasted 45 mins or so back and forth like that...LOL good memory!)
I think I may copy that idea just to bring back the memories! LOL

After reading, I understand there was a blip yesterday with the gift section on MyFarm. During that blip I spent 25,000 cash for a chicken coop and then received a message about gifts being setback 3 days. No chicken coop:baffled:. Though I am disappointed because I had spend days saving for a coop, I understand these things happen.
My question is will I need to be patient and accept the situation as is, or or is it possible I can be reimbursted?
Despite the setback, I enjoy this game. Warmly yours, Lorna

the chicken coop does not enable you to sell chickens. It says protection, and eggs comeing soon. You need a barn to sell animals, including chickens
srs42

The barn allows you to sell animals, including chickens (poor babies). So save up your farm-bucks, get a barn and all will be revealed.

We don't know. Have a look around - there are rather a lot of people asking the same thing! The next step is to get the server probems sorted out in early February, but after that no specific timetable for developments is in place. (The app is being developed by a college student so it take a little while.)

they are types of chickens. some day we will get eggs from chickens. but we do not know when or just how it will work, if you have a barn you can sell them, but there is not much point in buying them to sell, as they sell for much less than you pay, but if you sell gifted chickens, you have lost nothing. I think all the chickens are just cute to have on my farm.

The best use of chickens is their hypnotic sway - it is the best meditation there is out there. The chicken just relax me and make me feel at peace with the world.

Hardly. she sniffed. My cat was much larger than Henry's.. It was lying down, not standing, as Henry's is. It was entirely wheat (300+ squares of it), so for at least one or two days it was tan. Henry's cat is two-tone, right?

Yup! It's a small farm. I've put off expanding it, since I'd have to totally redo the design. Oh well, Henry hasn't complained yet. :little yellow cat:
But to get back on topic, none of the animals grow or produce anything, now. However, I think that future plans may include animals that grow up from "babies" and stuff like actual egg production from chickens. Once the new servers are fully actuated I'd bet that we'll start seeing a number of changes to the myFarm system. :frog hiccough:

Chickens are great fun, and surprisingly good at spelling. I am using them to write streetnames in my village. Also the goats are great fun to watch- especially if you put them in a group close together and watch them blink.
As for the horses... read the myfarm funnies, and you will never look at them the same way again :o)

They are, in fact, chickens - just different breeds! Google "Barred Rock Chicken" and "Rhode Island Chicken" .
As far as harvesting the trees, there is not supposed to be a change in harvesting after buying the woodshed. My guess is they have been harvest recently. Just wait a few days, and fruit should appear again.

The Barred Rock and Rhode Island are just other types of chicken.
You must wait three days after harvesting your trees, for them to produce again. The woodshed allows cutting and selling of trees.

you are able to harvest your trees after you buy the woodshed. the harvest button will not appear until its actually time to do so. until then you will only see the 'move' or 'sell' icons.

I seem to recall reading somewhere...ages ago....that the chicken starts to grow then the shell forms around it soon after....
I have no clue if thats true or not

Hey,
I did a search and couldn't find the info. Is the Rhode Island or or Barred Rock useful for anything?
Thanks,
Paul

Eggs aren't currently a feature of Chickens yet. It is something that is planned to be enabled when you have a coop but its still in planning/implementation stages. We hope it won't be too long before its a feature thats ready to go live but there isn't even a provisional time frame on it yet

Hi honeybee & welcome to the forum! None of the animals actually have a function at this time. Watch the "News & Updates" section for all new information.
The "barn" actually allows you to "sell" your animals.
Please use the "search" function before starting a new thread. I know this has not been asked for quite some time so the info may be hard to find.
Also there are links at the bottom of my post which will answer a lot of your questions.
I know you are new so please take this as an informative reply.

How long is it going to take to be able to start getting eggs and how long is it going to take to get an ability for the rustic shack????
:chick06:
The rusty shack gives you a reduction in your plowing costs, so it already has it's ability. The eggs, you will need to watch the "news section" for any updates. We do not have an eta for that function yet.

Obviously the chickens came first. The eggs haven't even been installed yet. And, if we ever get eggs, will be getting roosters so that we can hatch some baby chicks? :chick06:

With a magnifying glass, of course. Or, a Chickometer will locate them too (they're sold by Billy Mays on TV for only $19.95). :wink1:

Add the magnifying glass to "controls..."? Foss will love that one. :wink1: And the "Chickometer"....:chick: (is that pronounced chick-o-meter or chickAHmeter?) :dirol:

I prefer the latter, but you can say it however you want as long as you sends in your $19.95 (+ some outrageous shipping and handling fee).
Here chickie, chickie... Here chickie, chickie...Oohh Pretty!!

Well... I don't understand if the chiken coop is already running or if i have to wait till next updates. I have bought one of them since a month, aproximately and nothing happened. I would like to know what's happening, is there some kind of bug or something? Thank you:bunny:

You will get to collect eggs... when the developers incorporate that element into the game. As there is no estimate yet on when the egg collecting ability will be implemented, your best bet is to keep watching the "News and Updates" section of the Forum for any future developments.

I have had a Rhode Island and a Barred Rock hen for a long time. Yesterday, I bought a White Rooster. When I placed him on myFarm, my two hens turned into White Roosters and my White Rooster morphed into some hideous ball of feathers that hops around with no head. It is exceptionally creepy and disturbing. Can someone help me turn my hens back to normal and get this alien to return to roosterhood???
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!?!?!

Please set your Facebook ID
And your rooster is a 'ball of feather' as animals now have growth stages so start off as a 'baby'. They will grow over time and eventually become the full grown rooster
I adore the baby chicks not "creepy" but cute!
